1. Jacques Dubochet, Joachim Frank and Richard Henderson have won the Nobel Prize in chemistry for the year 2017 for developing ‘cryo-electron microscopy for the high-resolution structure determination of biomolecules in solution.’

3. Rainer Weiss, Barry C. Barish, and Kip S. Thorne have been awarded the 2017 Nobel Prize in Physics for decisive contributions to the LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory) detector and the observation of gravitational waves.

4. The Union Cabinet has given its approval for the signing and ratification of the Extradition Treaty between India and Lithuania. The Treaty would provide a legal framework for seeking extradition of terrorists, economic offenders and other criminals from and to Lithuania.
